I’ve been meaning to make a studded denim shirt for so long, so when the lovely ladies as Cosmo Australia contacted me for my spread in this month’s mag I thought what better time to have a go at a classic? I went for a simple and subtle style, but you should feel free to experiment and load up on studs!
You need:
A denim shirt
Dart Awl tool
Some small cone studs w screws
Pencil
How to:
1. Mark on the shirt where you want to put the studs using a pencil.
2. Use the dart awl to pierce the fabric.
3. Push the screw through the hole.
4. Wind the stud onto the screw.
5. Tighten with a screwdriver.
6. Attach all the other studs in this way.
Et voila! Simple and the perfect addition to my collection of denim shirts.
Australian fashion week next week guys! Looking forward to wearing some fun DIYs I’ve been doing recently and collecting a load of inspiration and fresh ideas for you guys.

I can’t explain how excited I was to see this month’s Cosmopolitan Australia – which includes an 8 page spread of a pair & a spare DIY projects, many of which are exclusive to the magazine. Admittedly I almost fell over when I got hold of my copy and saw my feet on the front cover – right next to Scarlett’s boobies no less!
For those of you in Australia, run, don’t walk, to your local newsagent to snag yourself a copy and get amongst twelve fun and simple projects. For those of you in other parts of the world, I’ll be publishing a few selected projects here so you don’t miss out so stay tuned this month.
Massive thanks to the team at Cosmopolitan – you truly have your finger on the blogging world pulse and it was a pleasure working with you. Thanks also to
Free People for contributing one of their guest projects to the spread. I’ve got so much love for your
studded denim cut offs – so happy that Cosmo does too!
