DIY TRANSPARENT BUSINESS CARD HOLDER

With New York fashion week just around the corner (and about a million opportunities to embarrass myself with grubby business cards), it’s clearly time to invest in a card holder. The last thing you want is that awkward situation where you have a card on you, but they’ve been sitting at the bottom of your handbag for a few months and, oh wait, also have melted chocolate on them.   Read on to learn how to make a simple transparent business card holder.
DIY Transparent Business Card Holder

You need:
- A square of clear PVC
- Scissors
- A rounded head stud
- A multi hole punch
- A business card or credit card
- A pen
- E6000 Glue (optional) (or ‘F6000′ if you live in China and accidentally bought the knock off version…)

Steps after the break!

How to:
1. Lay your card on top of the plastic – aiming to be in the very middle. Mark the corners with a pen.

2. Cut squares out of the sides of the plastic at right angles to the dots you marked.

3. Using the multi hole punch tool, put two holes in the long sides of the plastic.

4. Put the screw into one of the holes and attach the front of the stud.

5. Fold the sides in first and then the bottom and top flaps – as an optional step, dab a little glue on the under flaps and press onto the bottom flap. Place the folded cardholder under some books overnight so it forms a nice flat shape.

You can also use this pattern with leather or felt!

DIY CONE STUD BRACELET

I’ve been wanting to make myself a cone stud bracelet for so long, and recently got my hands on some of these metal stud beads in my local craft store. I knew straight away what I was going to make out of them!

On a side note, I admit I may have over-neoned myself recently so I love that this clutch has just a hint of neon yellow, which is perfect worked with a simple black and white outfit. But for those of you worried you’ve seen the last of DIY neon goodness from me – dont worry, I’ve got a few neon projects up my sleeves that I’m sure you’ll see soon!

DIY JEWELLED COLLAR TIPS

I live in silk shirts, particularly in the cooler months when they are perfect thrown over skinny jeans and layered with chunky knits or jackets. This week I’ll show you how to create some detachable jewelled collar tips – perfect for adding a little something special to your favourite collared shirt.
1
You need:
- tear drop rhinestones in settings
- earring backs
- glue (try Elmers or E6000)
2
How to:
1. Add some glue to the back of the rhinestones and leave to dry for a few moments so the glue gets tacky.
3
2. Press the earring backs onto the glue.
4
3. Leave to dry overnight.
5
Voila!

To wear, press the stud into the hole in the seam of the collar and put the earring backs on to secure.  When you take the jewels out simply rub the fabric to get rid of the tidy hole.
