DIY INSPO: SCRIBBLED JEWELS

I briefly spotted these Vika Gazinskaya scribbled jewels a while ago, but only recently stumbled upon her collection in its entirety. Although a few years old now, in my mind true inspiration never dates. And although I love the tactile quality of rhinestones, I have to say a cartoon style drawn on collar like this comes in a close second. And what better way to practice your illustration?

SYDNEY PHOTO DIARY

Sydney is one of those place you arrive and never want to leave – the food, the lifestyle, the people – on every level it’s one of the greatest citiesĀ  in the world. And when the city is over-run with fashion fiends vying for a bit of tommy ton action and you get to sample new collections while skimming free coffees from the star lounge? Sydney couldn’t get any better. As usual fashion week seemed to fly by in a blur of seeing a few shows, going to meetings and shooting a segment with The Today Show, to be honest I’m looking forward to heading back to Hong Kong tomorrow and relaxing! Here’s a peek at what I’ve been upto.

Loving my sparkly new Macgraw short suit, and using my transparent satchel to death (stay tuned for the DIY).

Drooling over Elle’s Dylanlex neck party (stay tuned for a tutorial from the creator herself!)

DIY INSPO: MARA HOFFMAN LEAF CUFFS

Just in time for festival season, one of my favourite designers Mara Hoffman never fails to inspire a little DIY action (see here and here). This time it’s with these super cute and incredibly DIYable leaf cuffs – as soon as I saw them on the runway in New York last September I know they would be making their way into my summer ensembles. Simply snip some botanicals from your own (or your neighbour’s) yard and glue together, securing with strong double sided tape at the opening. Done and done.
