DIY ROPE CAMERA STRAP

In the second (and chances are not final) iteration of ‘let’s turn that camera into a fully fledged accessory’, I recently decided to craft a new camera strap for my ever growing set of cameras, and can’t wait to take it on my next adventure. For now, sadly, I’ll just have to make do with prancing around the office with it hanging from my shoulder – if I close my eyes I can almost hear palm trees swaying….

Wearing: Cotton On Shorts , Jacket and top, Zara leopard print heels 

You need:

  • 1 metre (40 inches) of woven rope
  • Glue
  • A needle and thread
  • Two clasps
  • Black twine

How to:

1. Put come glue onto the end of the rope and thread the clasp on.

2. Fold the end over the clasp and then press the glue down. Then use the needle and thread to securely sew down the rope.

3. Take the twine and tie it securely around the rope.

4. Start wrapping the twine around the fold and join, using glue to secure it down as you go.

5. Once you have wrapped the join with twine, secure it down with a tight knot and hide the ends underneath the wrapping.

6. Do the same for the other side.
