DIY INSPO: DENIM RUG
1st September 2013
Over the last couple of months I’ve been working with a charity called Redress, which focuses on reducing waste in the fashion industry (both through the manufacturing process as well on the consumption side), running workshops all about reworking secondhand clothes. With this in mind I recently stumbled upon these super cool denim rugs that Nudie have been making using the waste from their denim manufacturing process, and couldn’t help but share them. I love these rugs for lots of reasons but most of all because they’re a good example of using waste to create something worth owning. My biggest issue with things made from waste materials or recycled clothes is that they’re so often things you would never wear. I know for a fact that it’s not so hard to create wearable pieces out of something second hand (before & after anyone?) and couldn’t be happier that companies like Nudie are realising it too.
