DIY HOME: CURATED SHELVES

Have you noticed that shelves are no longer just a place for stacking your books? They’ve become intensely curated spaces where only the best of the best can linger, carefully staged to be jussssst right. Usually a mix of art, books, travel finds and other pretty things, a well curated shelf usually speaks of a very organised mind (and perhaps a little too much time on one’s hands…). Do you have a penchant for curating your shelves?

I love decorating boards and shelves!
I got picture boards some time ago, and have been “curating” them for some time now. Books, pictures, candles, framed maps – everything goes on them. I adore that last image with the shoes arranged so beautifully on the shelves. I can’t imagine my fiancee being thrilled with the idea of having shoes on display around the house though. Maybe in the dressing room?

Hahahaha I know, I get the feeling you have to live alone or with other friends in order to be able to decorate with clothes!
Love the idea of curating your shelves. Recently took everything of mine of the few shelves I own. Mostly because I’m not in a place of my own and I thought I needed to at least feel like I had more space.
Once I get a place I’m definitely going to try and curate.

When I moved into my apartment I had NO shelving. My coffee table books were being used as an actual coffee table!
I built a custom floor-to-ceiling-wall-to-wall shelving unit that frames the windows in my apartment, and it’s really what turned my place into a real home. My entire library is organized and all my best treasures are always on display.
Sounds amazing Sacha!! And you made it yourself, what more could a girl ask for?

Yesss shelves have always been my alternative for display cases! I love being able to just occasionally change compositions. It’s like my inspiration book in 3D.
