DIY INSPO: JEWELED HEADPIECES
8th November 2012
If prefall Chanel taught us nothing else, it was that jeweled headpieces are back in a big way. A little east meets west and a whole lot of fun, the silly season has started and this would be the perfect addition to any party ensemble. What’s even better is that these are super simple to make yourself – and there’s nothing silly about that. Remember, everything’s better with a touch of sparkle!

Now I know these headpieces are something you either love or you hate. My question is – would you? could you? Are you itching to make your own or are you a bit like damn girl why do you have a necklace on your head?
love it! for a special occasion, why not! the turquoise one is so beautiful
Wow, It looks very nice! Can be so fashionalble soon xd
love them all!xx
love this look!

I am actually in the midst of making my own right now! I’m usind a beautiful lace applique, and handswoing on various sizes of swarovski crystals and pearls. In the end it will look something like this http://www.etsy.com/listing/64543726/bridal-bandeau-carey-as-seen-in-style-me
Ok, damn girl, why do you have a necklace on you head… Didn’t we see this a few years ago, when all the girls here were wearing strings around their heads? Been there, done that, and when I see the pictures again I wonder why I ever wanted to wear that…
I do love your blog by the way!

I love Mira Dumas and the one the girl has next to her

I love the look, but would have a hard time pulling it off. Absolutely lovely though!
As an Indian, for SURE I would rock it. But probably at traditional functions though – it would seem out of place otherwise

I sooooo want to. I don’t think I can, but I think I’m gonna. Got a design in mind already….uh oh!!!
“Damn girl why do you have a necklace on your head?”
HAHAHAHA! I died when I read that!
I’ve actually wore necklaces on my head…and wore them proudly.
I smell a thrift hunt coming on (when do I not?).
I love them. I wear a headscarf and one of these on top would be just beautiful. you could even use a cool necklace as a headband I think.

I have such mixed feelings about these!! They’re gorgeous and I so want to make one, but I don’t think I would ever wear it in public haha

I could and I would, at least around the house. Not sure I can carry the look off, but I do like it.
awesome pieces and I especially like the first one

I adore headpieces
even if they aren’t easy to wear..
Would love to see a DIY on this theme
I like the first one alot. The rest look like necklaces on heads. Haha. And that’s saying something for me because I always have something or other on my head.
I love the look of them, but I’m not sure I would wear them, except maybe at a party. I made a quite simple flower crown a couple of years ago and never got around to actually wearing it … I’m normally not one to go out of the way of dressing quite eclecticly though, so who knows?
The 20′s are back !! … i allways wanted something like that … But now , thanx to YOU !! I think i’am gonna DIY it … it’s pretty simple when u actually give it a try … Thanx for the idea , XO XO

omg i’ve been looking at necklaces on ebay to do exactly this! though i’ll admit not quite as big as these, but something sparkly w/ pearls. I’ve been kinda obsessed with the idea since I saw a jeweled headband on nicole ritchie a few years ago!
OMG I love this style so much!!! PLEAAAAAAAAAAAASE!!!

I love the third and the fourth one and headpieces in general but I think they are more suitable for the summer!
I’m not sure I could pull one off but I love seeing these ladies rock them!
I love them I want one!!!! They remind me of Sienna Miller, I think I might have to find myself one!
Loving your post as always,
Much Love M x

This is one of those projects that I would make, wear around the house, and then never walk out with it on.
Theyre so gorgeous though!
mm yeah I don’t think I’d feel comfortable wearing one. Maybe for a dress-up party or something! Kudos to those that rock it
I die for these jewelled headpieces. I am obsessed with the last two, especially Mira Duma’s! xx

I really like this trend. It’s quite brave, but in the same time suitable for the big event. Allows you to get attention, being in a crowd of people.

I am in love with that first one, I haven’t seen anything like it!
I’m tempted to just use a necklace and see how that works.
the making of things
i think that they are all gorgeous but i could only pull off one similar to picture 1 because anything bigger i dont think would suit me would love to know how to make one!
I like it!!!! If I wasn’t allergic to metal, I would definitely give this one a go! I’ll have to find something wooden or stone!

i LOVE it, it looks so chic and daring, would totally work for a photoshoot or a celebrity, in real life, i would propably wear a smaller one!
such a glamourous look. wondering how you’ll do this one, it looks VERY complicated, but well worth the effort, i reckon.

it may not be very practical to wear but for those who can pull them off, BAM! an instant high fashion touch to any outfit! Not that i’m going to really wear them, but i must say that i really like it. It reminds me of the glamorous princesses from the middle east.
Anyway, i can’t wait for your DIY version of this. must be brilliant just as always!
PS : just an idea, why not make something that can be worn as a headpiece, and as a necklace?
WOW!!!I love it!!!!Necklace on head!!FAB and so GLAMOROUS!!!
They’re amazing, i’ll try this at my blog

I don’t know – it’s a pretty bold look! I think the only one I would try is the one on the top left – i LOVE how it looks! So deco! x
It looks so beautiful on these girls, but it must feel so weird putting a jewelry like that on your head

I’ve been meaning to make one of these for forever! It would just be too easy… but I never seem to get around to the craft store anymore.
