DIY CELINE INSPIRED SILVER NECK CUFF

This incredibly simple project is sure to satisfy your Celine accoutrement cravings – the silver neck cuff. Or choker. Whatever you want to call it. I also made a much wider version which you will no doubt see soon!

You need:
- Approx half a metre of 0.03mm thick Aluminium Flashing (link: http://www.amazon.com/Amerimax-Home-66308-Aluminum-Flashing/dp/B000U9NPJY/ref=pd_cp_hi_3) - used in roofing and available in most hardware stores. It cost me around AUD$2.50 for the metre.
- Scissors
- Hammer
- Towel
- Cylindrical object to shape the cuff, I used a biscuit tin.

How to:
You’ll notice the first few steps are the same as the metal belt tutorial I did over at my blog – indeed they are very similar up to a certain point.

1. Using scissors cut a strip of flashing to size – for the neck cuff I cut the flashing about 4cm wide and 20cm long.
2. To effectively ‘hem’ the edge of the metal (so that you don’t cut yourself while wearing it), place your flashing on a table with about 1cm along the length of it hanging over the side of the table. Using your fingers, push the metal down so it is flush with the corner of the table. Turn the metal over and push it down all the way down along the edge. Repeat this on the other edge.
3. To finish the edges, cover with a towel and hammer lightly with the hammer along the edge so it is nice and flat. You can also place the belt between two phone books and hammer the edges for a smooth finish.

4. Place the metal underneath the biscuit tin and bend upwards around the tin to create a smooth rounded shape with no bends or dints.
5. Complete the collar by bending all the way around.
6. Slide the collar off the tin and lightly adjust it to fit around your neck.
