DIY Mara Hoffman Inspired Sarong Dress
9th July 2011
Recently, whilst doing some virtual window shop over at Net-A-Porter, I foundĀ this amazing Mara Hoffman dress which I was completely besotted by. I posted about it yesterday as part of my summer DIY to do list. Anyway, thought I would show you pics of me trying to emulate this gorgeous dress while in Thailand. Don’t you love how the draped fabric makes the perfect cut outs? My version is definitely more suited to the beach, but you could also make one using a busier top and some fabric which would work as a non-beach dress. I may just do that!
Thought I would throw in a pic of Surin Beach where I spent most of my time in Thailand. It was divine.

It looks sooo good! I’m going to have to try this!
This is a great idea, looks great:)

so cool! love it. xx
It looks awesome! I love that the patterns both complement one another and are completely different at the same time.
that is BRILLIANT! I’m always thinking how can i make stuff myself, but when I came across that dress a few months ago, to use it for a hair show my boyfriend was entering (he is a hairstylist), we didn’t think to diy it! Maybe i’ll give this a whirl, it’s divine. If you attach it with snaps or something, you can take the fabric off and then still wear it as a bikini too!
This is funny I actually live in Phuket
hope you had a wonderful time there!
Love! x
